6E Club Upload: Formats, Limits, Processing and Visibility
Checked · 6E Club help guide
A 6E Club upload is a short trip: pick a file, fill in a few details while it sends, choose who can see it, and share the link. This guide walks through every screen of that trip, from the accepted formats and the 4 GB limit to what the processing badges mean and why a video is watchable before the HD versions exist.
It is written for phones first, because most people on 6E Club upload from an Android device on mobile data. If you have not made an account yet, start with the free registration page; a verified email is needed before the Upload button does anything.
6E Club Upload Formats and Limits
Five containers are accepted: MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV and AVI. Inside it, H.264 video with AAC audio plays everywhere without conversion, which is why the original file can be shown to viewers immediately. Other codecs still work, but they only play once the encoder has produced the standard renditions. Use the “H.264” or “MP4 for web” preset in your editing app; the background on H.264 explains why it is so widely supported.
The limits below keep storage and encoding fair for everyone, and they are checked in your browser before the first chunk leaves the phone, so an oversized file fails in a second rather than after a long wait.
| Limit | Value | What happens if you go over |
|---|---|---|
| File size | 4 GB per file | The picker refuses the file with “File too big”; re-export at a lower bitrate |
| Duration | 2 hours per file | “Duration too long”; split the recording into parts |
| Uploads per day | 15 files in any 24 hours | “Daily file limit reached”; wait for the counter to reset |
| Footage per day | 10 hours in any 24 hours | “Daily hour limit reached”; the rest can go up tomorrow |
| Title | Required, up to 255 characters | The Save button stays disabled until a title exists |
| Description | Up to 3,000 characters | Extra characters are not accepted by the box |
| Hashtags | Up to 15 per video | The chip input stops accepting new tags |
Frame rate and resolution are not capped separately. A 4K file is accepted if it fits the size and duration limits, but the player tops out at 1080p, so recording at 1080p saves upload time with no visible loss.
Uploading a Video Step by Step
The 6E Club upload flow is the same on the website and in the Android app; only the file picker looks different. On the web it is the upload screen behind the header button; in the app it is the Upload tab.
- Sign in with a verified email. A banner reminds you if you have not confirmed it.
- Open the upload screen and either drop a file onto the dashed box or tap it to open the gallery.
- The browser checks the file type, reads the duration from the file header and shows a 16:9 preview frame. If anything is outside the limits, you see the reason here, before any data is sent.
- The progress bar starts. The file goes up in 50 MB chunks, two at a time.
- While the chunks travel, fill in the details form on the same page and press Save whenever you like.
- When the last chunk lands, the status changes to Optimizing and a watch link plus a share box appear, ready to copy, send on WhatsApp or embed.
- A few minutes later the HD renditions and three automatic thumbnail frames are ready; pick one or upload your own.
A public video with only a title is allowed, but a clear description and the right category are what put it in the Explore feed and in search results next to similar videos.
The Details Form, Field by Field
The form is editable during and after the 6E Club upload, so there is no need to type everything before the bar finishes.
Title
Required, up to 255 characters, and prefilled from the file name. A good title says what the viewer will see in the first few words, because phones cut long titles after about 60 characters in feeds. Hindi, English or a mix all work, and search matches either script.
Description
Up to 3,000 characters of plain text. Links are shown as text, not clickable buttons, which keeps spam down. Use the first two lines for the summary that appears before “Show more”, then add credits and timestamps as plain text.
Hashtags
Up to 15 per video, typed as chips. Each tag is a single word of letters, digits and underscores; a space starts the next tag. Tags are clickable and have their own hashtag pages, so three or four precise tags beat fifteen vague ones; case does not matter.
Category and language
Pick one of the 20 categories, from Music and Comedy to Education and Sports, and the main spoken language. Both are used by the category browser, the search filters and the related-videos column, so an honest choice puts the video in front of people who actually want it.
Visibility: Public, Unlisted, Private, Password, Scheduled
Visibility decides who can open a 6E Club upload. You can change it at any time from the details form or the videos table in the creator studio, including in bulk for several videos at once.
| Setting | Who can watch | Appears in search and feeds? | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Public | Everyone, signed in or not | Yes | Finished videos you want people to find |
| Unlisted | Anyone who has the link | No | Sharing with a class, a family group or a client |
| Private | Only you, while signed in | No | Drafts, back-ups, videos you are still editing |
| Password | Anyone who has the link and the password | No | Paid-course previews, rehearsal footage |
| Scheduled | Nobody until the chosen date and time, then everyone | After it goes live | Release at a fixed time while you are away |
An unlisted video inside a public playlist is still visible to anyone who opens the playlist, so keep sensitive material private rather than unlisted. A scheduled video can be edited until it turns public; followers with the bell on are notified only at that moment.
Audience Questions, Labels and Toggles
Below visibility sit a few switches that change how a 6E Club upload behaves.
Made for kids
Answer Yes if the video is clearly aimed at children: nursery rhymes, cartoons, a lesson for small kids. Comments are switched off on these videos and cannot be turned on, and they appear in the normal feeds with the sensitive filter always applied.
Sensitive-content restriction
Turn this on for material that is legal but not for everyone: surgery footage, accident reports, strong language. Restricted videos are hidden from anyone who keeps “Hide sensitive content” on, which is the default for every account and the only setting for viewers under 18. Mark it yourself rather than waiting for the review team to do it after a report.
AI-generated and paid-partnership labels
Two honesty labels. If a meaningful part of the picture or voice was generated by software, tick AI-generated and a small badge appears on the player. If a brand paid you or gave you the product, tick Paid partnership. Both are part of the rules on misleading content, so leaving them off when they apply can lead to a strike.
Comments, embed and download
Three on-off switches. Comments default to on except on kids’ videos. Embed lets other websites place the player on their page with the code from the share menu. Download lets viewers save the MP4; it is off by default.
Thumbnails That Get Taps
Once the encoder has run, the 6E Club upload form offers three frames from the start, middle and end of the video. Tap one, or upload a custom image. Custom thumbnails work best as 16:9 JPEG or PNG images at 1280×720 or larger, with a face or a clear object and no more than three or four words of text, because the image is shrunk to a few centimetres on a phone.
A thumbnail is treated like the video itself under the content rules. A misleading or explicit image on an ordinary video is a reason for removal on its own, and a thumbnail that copies another creator’s artwork can attract a takedown notice even if the footage is yours.
Processing States and What Each Badge Means
The videos table in the studio shows one badge per video while a 6E Club upload is in progress. Live videos carry no badge. If something needs your attention, the badge becomes a button that opens the problem.
| Badge | Meaning | What you can do |
|---|---|---|
| About to upload | The upload session exists, the first chunk has not been sent yet | Wait, or cancel from the same screen |
| Uploading | Chunks are travelling; the bar shows the percentage | Fill in the details, keep the tab open |
| Optimizing | The original is stored and already playable; the encoder is making 360p, 720p and 1080p plus thumbnails | Share the link, pick a thumbnail when the frames appear |
| Live (no badge) | All renditions ready, the video is served to viewers at the chosen visibility | Nothing; edit any time |
| Action needed | A required field is missing, usually the title, category or the made-for-kids answer | Tap Add info and save |
| Failed | The file could not be processed; the reason is shown next to the badge | Fix the reason and use Reupload |
Failure reasons in plain words
- Unsupported format — the container or codec is not one the encoder reads. Export as MP4 (H.264) and try again.
- File too big or Duration too long — over 4 GB or over 2 hours. Split or re-encode.
- Daily file limit reached / Daily hour limit reached — 15 files or 10 hours already sent in the last 24 hours. Try tomorrow.
- Previously removed content — the file matches a video that was removed for breaking the rules. It will not be accepted again, even under a new title.
- Content policy — the title or description tripped a check and the video was held for review before going live. You will get an email with the result.
- Unknown error — something went wrong on our side. Reupload once; if it fails again, contact customer care with the video ID shown on the badge.
Watchable Immediately, HD Renditions Follow
Every 6E Club upload is watchable the moment the last chunk is confirmed: viewers get the original file through the normal player with all its controls, including speed, subtitles and picture-in-picture.
In the background the encoder picks the video up from the queue, creates the three adaptive renditions and packages them as HLS segments, which is what lets the player switch quality mid-stream on a weak signal. Once those exist, the quality menu offers Auto, 360p, 720p and 1080p, and anyone on mobile data starts at 360p and climbs as the connection allows. The player guide explains those viewer-side settings, including eco mode.
Until then a viewer on a slow connection streams the full-size original, which can be heavy, so for an important release upload as Private or Scheduled, wait for the Optimizing badge to disappear, then flip it to Public.
Resumable Uploads and Mobile-Data Tips
Every 6E Club upload is chunked and resumable. If the signal drops, only the chunk in flight is lost and the next attempt continues from the last confirmed one. If the tab closes or the phone restarts, the session is kept: the upload screen shows a Resume upload box next time, and choosing the same file (matched by name and size) continues where it stopped.
Six habits for uploading on a phone
- Use Wi-Fi for anything over a few hundred megabytes. A 1 GB file on a 4G plan can eat a whole day’s data allowance.
- Keep the screen on or the app in the foreground; some phones pause background transfers to save battery.
- Plug the phone in; uploading is the most battery-hungry thing a video app does.
- Record at 1080p rather than 4K unless you truly need it; the file is roughly four times smaller and the player serves 1080p at most anyway.
- Trim dead air at the start and end before uploading. Shorter files finish faster and viewers stay longer.
- On a budget Android phone, close other apps first; the browser needs memory to read a large file’s duration and preview frame.
The Android app has the same chunked uploader as the website, plus the system share sheet, so you can send a video from the gallery app directly to the Upload tab.
What Gets a Video Removed
Most uploads never meet the review team. The ones that do fall into two groups: content that breaks the rules every video must follow, and content that belongs to someone else. Both are checked by people, not only by software, and both have an appeal route.
The first group covers the twelve report reasons: sexual content, harm to children, hate, violence, dangerous acts, misinformation, spam and so on. Titles, thumbnails and descriptions count as much as the footage. A removal gives a strike that lasts 90 days; three active strikes mean a seven-day upload ban.
The second group is copyright. Uploading a film, a TV episode, a song video or another creator’s clip without permission is the most common reason a new channel loses its upload rights. A rights holder can send a notice through the takedown form, the video is hidden while it is checked, and you can file a counter-notice if you believe the claim is wrong. The copyright page explains the timelines, and India’s Copyright Office has the background on what is protected. Two confirmed claims remove upload rights; three end the account.
A quick self-check before you press Save: did you shoot or make everything in the file, including the music? Would you be comfortable with your name next to the thumbnail? If both answers are yes, your 6E Club upload is almost certainly fine.
Ready to Send Your First Video?
Sign in, drop a file on the upload screen and fill in the title while it sends. The watch link works the moment the bar hits 100 percent.
Upload Safely
Before uploading, look at what is in the frame. A video filmed at home can show a street sign, a school uniform, a number plate or a screen with messages on it. Blur or crop anything that gives away where you or a child live, and never upload footage of other people, especially minors, without asking them.
A 6E Club upload is public the moment you choose Public, and anyone can copy it with a screen recorder. Use Private or Unlisted for anything you might regret, keep the Download switch off unless you want copies circulating, and remember that deleting a video removes it from our servers but not from phones that already saved it.
Accounts are for people aged 13 and over; mature-content settings need 18+. Every video, comment and channel has a Report button, and reports are reviewed by people. Never share your password or a one-time code with anyone who contacts you in the name of 6E Club. Read the safety guide for creators and viewers.
Questions People Ask
What is the maximum file size for a 6E Club upload?
Each file can be up to 4 GB and up to 2 hours long. On top of that, one account can send 15 videos and 10 hours of footage in a single day. If a file is bigger or longer, trim it or export it again at a lower bitrate before you start; the upload page checks size and duration before it sends a single byte.
Which video formats does 6E Club accept?
MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV and AVI files are accepted. MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio is the safest choice because almost every phone, camera and editing app can export it and the player can show the original file straight away. Other containers work too, but they may take a little longer to optimise.
Why does my video show in original quality but no 1080p option yet?
That is normal. The moment the upload completes, the original file is playable from the watch page. The encoder then creates the 360p, 720p and 1080p renditions in the background, usually within minutes. When they are ready, the quality menu in the player fills in and the Auto setting starts switching between them.
Can I pause a 6E Club upload and continue later?
Yes, within the same browser session. The file is sent in chunks, so a dropped connection only loses the chunk that was in flight. If the page reloads, open the upload page again and use Resume upload: it lists open uploads and matches them by file name and size. Pick the same file from your phone and it carries on.
Can I upload from the 6E Club Android app?
Yes. The Upload tab in the app opens your gallery, and the same limits, details form, visibility choices and processing states apply. The app uses the same account as the website, so a video started on the phone appears in the creator studio on a laptop as soon as it is saved. Use Wi-Fi for large files.
What happens if I go over the daily 6E Club upload quota?
The upload stops with a clear message: Daily file limit reached or Daily hour limit reached. Nothing is deleted and no strike is given; the counter simply resets after 24 hours. If you regularly hit the limit, schedule videos instead of sending them all at once, or combine short clips into one longer file.
Final Checklist Before You Press Save
A good 6E Club upload is an MP4 under 4 GB and 2 hours, sent over Wi-Fi with the details form filled in while the chunks travel. Give it a clear title, a two-line summary, a handful of precise hashtags, the right category and language, and answer the made-for-kids and sensitive-content questions honestly. Add the labels if software or a sponsor was involved.
Then let the badges do their work: the video is watchable in original quality as soon as the bar completes, the HD renditions arrive within minutes, and a thumbnail choice finishes the job. Keep uploads to things you made yourself and the strikes page in your studio will stay empty.
